Shapely Lips Take Over The Big Lip Trend

Shapely Lips Take Over The Big Lip Trend

The “big lip” trend began in 2006 after Angelina Jolie took the title of the “World’s Most Beautiful Star” with her big full lips being praised. Stars of the stage and screen quickly turned to lip filler to get the same look and it wasn’t long before anyone who could afford it followed the likes of Khloe Kardashian and Love Island star Molly-May Hague in the rush to get lip fillers.

The in-thing at this time was huge puffy looking lips and for some, the bigger, the better. However, many people ended up with lips that looked like they had been stung by bees, had an allergic reaction, and had become swollen. Now the trend has diminished, and stars, along with the not-so-famous, are regretting the action and are dissolving the big lip fillers in favour of smaller shapely lips and more natural looks.

Celebrities spend thousands on injecting and removing lip fillers

The rise of celebrities dissolving their lip fillers is continuing to spread, with more and more turning to ditch the over-emphasised pouts for a more natural look.

Kylie Jenner began having lip fillers at only 15 and decided to have them dissolved in 2018. Reality TV star Gemma Collins also chose to give up the bloated lip look for a more natural one after saying that all celeb’s lips now looked the same after having filler.

In 2019 Olivia Attwood, also from Love Island, admitted that her top lip had been overfilled and she had been relying on lip filler for six years but had now chosen to remove them as they were “really puffy”.

Molly-Mae Hague, star of the TV series Love Island started getting lip fillers at the age of 17. It has been reported that the star has spent more than £6,000 on getting lip fillers injected and then having them removed in 2021.

In her own words, she said her lips had “lumpy bumpy horrible filler”, and the star said having the filler removed was the best decision she has ever made.

Chloe Sims, star of TOWIE, also decided to go for a more natural look in 2021, and the trend is continuing.

Why celebs are dissolving lip fillers

So, why are more and more celebs and “normal” people turning away from the big lip trend they once adored so much?

One reason is to remain on trend with current fashions. It only takes a few well-known names to start a new trend. Years ago, large bulbous lips, sharp jawline and high cheekbones were the in-thing. Now people are turning back to a more natural look. Fillers are all well and good if used correctly and if they are placed strategically to look natural and not overdone, and people are now realising this.

After all, there is nothing aesthetically pleasing about lips that look swollen, lumpy, and too big for the face.

So, what do you do if you are unhappy with the “thin lips” you were born with but don’t want huge, over-the-top lips?

Enhancing natural lips with minimal dermal filler

Many people still think that full plump lips look better than thin ones, but they don’t want to go down the route of having lip fillers and risk ending up with lips that look stung.

Thankfully, lip treatments don’t always mean huge lips and one of these is the thin lip treatment offered at Hans Place.

Today people are putting more emphasis on lips that are shapelier instead of being large, puffy and pouty and this is possible with dermal fillers from Hans Place. The dermal fillers are minimally invasive, and treatment is classed as a cosmetic treatment.

Hyaluronic acid helps to give a more natural look

During the treatment, a clear gel that is almost the same as hyaluronic acid, which is naturally occurring in the body, is injected into the lips in tiny amounts. The gel is clear, and once in place, it works with the hyaluronic acid already in the body to plump up, smooth and fill out, along with smoothing thin lips.

One of the benefits is that it is possible to choose the size you would like your lips to be. This means you don’t have to worry about the lips swelling up to the point they look as though you have been attacked by bees.

The dermal filler integrates into your skin tissue, and as such, it allows vital elements, including hormones and oxygen, to pass through. By doing so, you end up with a healthier, more natural, safe finish.

Another benefit of this non-invasive treatment is that over time, the filler breaks down thanks to the body’s biological processes, and eventually, it comes out completely. This makes the hyaluronic filler a popular choice for anyone who wants to add a little volume and shape to thin lips without going extreme.
