What are the best workouts after Vaser Liposuction?

VASER liposuction is a popular choice of minimally invasive treatment to help to remove fat from the body and to reshape the body. It offers excellent results on the stomach and thighs and more so if you work out following the treatment. However, there are some things to take into account straight after the treatment, and some types of workouts work better than others. So, let’s take a look at the best workouts.

Factors to consider when having Vaser liposuction

Firstly, it is important to remember that Vaser liposuction is not a tool to lose weight. Losing weight requires you to stick to a diet, and sticking to your ideal weight relies on eating healthy and keeping an eye on what you eat.

The treatment alone won’t stop you from putting weight on; it simply helps you to remove stubborn fat deposits. So, you do get the best results from the treatment if you eat healthily and exercise after the treatment.

While Vaser liposuction is a relatively minimally invasive treatment when compared to typical liposuction or having surgery with a tummy tuck, there is still some recovery time.

Recovery following Vaser liposuction

Recovery time is around six weeks following your Vaser liposuction treatment. However, the majority of people who have it take a few days before starting to get back to the swing of things and return to their normal activities after two weeks.

Following the treatment, you should rest for a couple of days. You can do small amounts of gentle exercises, such as walking around, but nothing that includes lifting a heavy object or stretching. This will be too much for the body.

During the six weeks following treatment, your body is healing, so you should take it easy with the exercise. However, after 2 to 4 weeks, you can begin to exercise again, but you must start slower than you usually would. At this stage, taking walks at a brisk pace is a good choice, but do not overdo it, and do not go jogging or running.

Gradually build up the intensity of a workout over time; vigorous exercise should begin no earlier than week five following your treatment. Take notice of what your body is telling you during this time; if you feel tired, then rest.

Maintaining your Vaser liposuction results with exercise and diet

After the sixth week following treatment, you should be more or less back to normal in your lifestyle. Now is the time to plan out your exercise routine and diet/healthy eating habits going forward.

So, what are the best exercises to help you to maintain the results of your Vaser liposuction once you have fully recovered from your treatment?

Cardio exercise burns fat and strengthens muscles

Cardio is one of the best forms of exercise after you have fully recovered from your liposuction. There are many different types of cardio, so there should be something for all ages and fitness levels; they include:

  • A brisk walk;
  • Jogging;
  • Running;
  • Swimming;
  • Cycling;
  • Water aerobics;
  • Dancing;
  • Climbing stairs;
  • Playing golf;
  • Jumping jacks

Cardio exercise is any form of exercise that uses aerobic metabolism. This means any type of activity where oxygen is involved in cellular reactions to produce the energy required for the activity.

During cardio, your heart rate will increase, along with you breathing more deeply to maximise the oxygen in the blood. Doing so leaves you feeling more energised. Cardio activity will challenge your vital organs and improves the heart, lungs and your circulatory system. It is also a great form of exercise to maintain your body looks following Vaser liposuction, along with a healthy eating plan.

To benefit from this, you should take part in cardio activities at least three times per week. The length of time is not crucial, and when starting, start slowly and build up.

Resistance training is a low-impact but important workout

Resistance training is another recommended type of exercise for anyone who has had Vaser liposuction and wants to maintain the effects of the treatment. It is also an excellent choice to start with if you previously didn’t follow any type of activity before having treatment.

This type of exercise can be done with anything from a resistance band to weights to kettlebells or barbells. The whole point of resistance training is to increase the strength of muscles as you make them work against the force of the band or weight.

To gain benefit from resistance training, you should train two to three times weekly. It is also important to rest your muscle groups for 48 hours in-between to get the best results.

Resistance training is considered a low-impact exercise as it does not put too much stress on the joints but provides your muscle groups with a good workout. When doing this training to maintain the results of your treatment, you should exercise 30 minutes daily.
