A lot of celebs have been singing the praises of Morpehus8 and INTRAcel From Kim Kardashian to Amanda Holden and Judy Murray; there are many big fans of this treatment. When you hear so much hype, it’s normal to wonder how, and if it works. So, here’s everything you need to know about these treatments.
Both Morpheus8 and INTRAcel are combination treatments. They use both microneedling and radiofrequency technology to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. The practitioner does all of this using a handheld device which allows for precision targeting. The best results are achieved when in the hands of an experienced practitioner.
The results can be remarkable. These treatments can improve skin texture. So, you end up with skin that looks younger and feels smoother. This is because the treatment works to increase elastin and collagen production in the skin, which helps to reduce skin laxity and firm up loose skin.
In doing so, sagging, fine lines, and wrinkles are reduced. The same treatment can also effectively treat stretch marks and minimise large pores or small broken red veins.
If you have acne, acne scars, or scarred skin, then you may also be interested in this treatment. It can be quite effective at making all of these marks less visible.
However, the most popular use of Morpheus8 and INTRAcel is for firming up the ‘turkey neck’. This is the loose skin around the neck which can sag or create folds. This is the treatment Judy Murray has had. Of the treatment, she said; “I am absolutely thrilled to bits with the result, my skin is fresher, clearer, and I feel much better about myself.”
The great thing about these treatments is that you’ll see results pretty quickly. You can often see some improvement after only one treatment. However, for the best results, most people have 2 -5 treatments. Your skin will continue to improve over the next six months.
Essentially these treatments cause microscopic damage to your skin. They do this by driving microneedles into your skin. These needles then use radiofrequency energy to deliver a small amount of heat into your skin cells. Both the heat and the needle prick stimulates the productions of collagen. This extra collagen tightens and firms skin.
A secondary effect of the radiofrequency energy is that it reduces the amount of sebum that your skin is producing. This is how it can reduce the appearance of acne. The radiofrequency energy also prompt elastin production, which is excellent for minimising the appearance of scarring and stretch marks.
So, these treatments work by causing small amounts of targeted damage to your cells. This prompts your body’s natural healing response to activate. The end result is that your skin quickly heals and ends up in a much better condition than when you began.
The length of time depends on the area you are having treated. The clinic team use a topical cream to numb the treatment zone first. Then the surgeon applies the handheld device to your skin. The doctor may make several passes over the area in a single treatment. The numbing takes around an hour, and the procedure usually takes between 30-60 minutes.
This treatment is highly targeted. The needles only apply heat for fractions of a second. This means that the skin damage is minor and surrounding areas are unaffected. You may experience a sunburn-like sensation and some redness. These feelings usually fade in a few hours but will be resolved within 24 hours, which is a much shorter recovery time than many other non-surgical facelift procedures.
INTRAcel and Morpheus8 are quite versatile treatments. Skilled doctors can use them to treat several different areas. The most common places are the neck and face. With careful application, an experienced surgeon can even smooth out crows feet around your eyes.
Treatments are not limited to the face and neck. You can get this treatment for your chest, abdomen, hands, knees, and buttocks. If you have a problem area and think this sounds like it would help, it’s worth speaking to us to find out more. At Han’s Place, we offer free consultations.
The technology is essentially the same for both Morpheus8 and INTRAcel. They are brand names and offer slightly different devices. However, they both offer radiofrequency and microneedling. In the hands of someone who knows what they’re doing, they are handy tools, and each practitioner has their preferred device. Ultimately it’s the skill of the practitioner that matters more than which device they use.
At Han’s Place, Dr Mike Comins offers turkey neck treatments. He is a skilled and experienced INTRAcel practitioner and can help you feel more confident in your skin.
